Tags Embroidery

These simple bookmarks were made from a few fabric remnants and a little embroidery floss. They make sweet and useful handmade gifts for family at Christmas time but are so easy!.... You'll need 2 fabric remnants...a plain one for the front to embroider on, and a patterned one for the back. Cut them into 2 rectangles measuring 2 inches wide X 8 inches long and cut one end into a point (as in the photos) Choose a design for your embroidery...(my line drawings can be downloaded as images if you'd like to use them). To transfer them onto the fabric you need...

Benson Bear with Poem

Tags Prototype Bear

Last Christmas I made this bear (named Benson) for my brother, and as many of you know he was the prototype for the Jingle Bear Pattern. What I forgot to mention was that I also wrote a little poem to go with him which I hand wrote on a cardboard label and attached to his neck. It occurred to me that you might like to adapt the poem to go with your own bear gift this Christmas, so here's a copy with complements..... PLEASE look after this Bear.....His name is Benson and he has no hair!He suffers with cold chills...

Yet again I'm bowled over by your lovely creations!  Look at this wonderful teddy and matching robins made by Beth who tells me she has just started sewing after a 20 year break. She said "I took up sewing again just to make some special items for my family using material from my nana's handmade curtains" Thank you so much Beth for sharing your lovely work!

Christmas Sewing soothes the soul! .......   This year I decided to make my Tree Owls completely by hand limiting my colours to red and white. I made the bodies using felt fabric and the wings are cotton or cotton blend. So quick and easy!  You can find the sewing pattern here http://bit.ly/1Rs0wAp
