Further to last months post about The Cottingly Fairies I have this lovely update from Jane, who told me... "Here is Toddy - one of the pet names I had to for Dad. He is made from his "hope shirt" which he was wearing in hospital and came back from double pneumonia and made it "home"...he is Toddy the Taurean as he was made on Sunday 7th which makes him a little bull bear. After falling in love with a picture of a harp-playing hare from a mediaeval illuminated manuscript, Dr. Karen started making applique rabbits on cushions and cases for her friends. She said..."When I saw the My Fabric Heaven “Lacy Rabbit”, I couldn’t resist making it. I first made a pink one, before I realised that another friend, librarianship lecturer Anne, shared my enjoyment of mediaeval rabbit illustrations. Some “printed pages” material in my fabric stash looked ideal for a bookish friend, so I set to work making a bookish Lacy Rabbit for Anne." Bookish bunny then traveled from Karen in Scotland...
